RF Ablation

The conventional treatment for cystic thyroid nodules has been to drain the cyst several times, and then to surgically remove the cystic nodule should it recur.

With the Radiofrequency Ablation (RF) method, the cyst is firstly drained and then the solid component is vaporized using the heat generated by radio waves.

This procedure is performed under general anesthesia. The patient may go home on the same day or after 24 hours depending on the extent of the procedure.
